Ogliastra, a land of enchanting beauty, is located in the central-eastern part of Sardinia, between the Gennargentu Mountain and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The origin of its name apparently derives from Olivastri (wild olive tree) which the territory is rich of, although others attribute the origin of the name to the huge monolith overlooking the sea on the coast of Baunei, called Agugliastra (Sa Pedra Longa). The Lido of Orrì, Coccorrocci or Cala Goloritzé, must not to be missed as they are absolutely some of the most beautiful inlets of Sardinia.
